Mixtape:
remixing local heritage to shape future identity
Aldershot Mixtape guided audio walk October 2025
No two towns sound the same
We’re developing a platform that transforms your location's distinct musical and cultural history into an active, shared experience.
We bridge the gap between yesterday's stories and today's culture, giving communities a platform to define who they become.
What is Mixtape?
Geolocated Audio
An interactive mobile app that guides users through their town, triggering hyper-local oral histories, memories, and original music at exact GPS coordinates.
Premium Storytelling
We don't just point out old buildings. Our studio produces high-fidelity, documentary-style "hero" trails that foster a deep emotional connection to the town's unique cultural DNA.
Measurable Impact
Beyond community engagement, Mixtape acts as a strategic placemaking tool. It actively guides users toward targeted local amenities and provides the analytics needed to prove civic ROI.
Example:
Aldershot Mixtape
Each track varies in length from 6 to 9 minutes, with a short journey between locations and has an overall duration of approximately 90 minutes. If you’re heading out to listen to the tracks in person, remember to bring headphones, be careful on the roads, and stop for a coffee or a pint along the way.
You can listen to Aldershot Mixtape from start to finish, or you can choose your own route and select the locations and tracks that catch your eye.
Impact
In 2025, we launched our flagship audio-AR trail in Aldershot.
Backed by Rushmoor Borough Council, UCA, and the Forward 4 Wiz Trust, the project successfully transformed local musical heritage into measurable civic engagement.

Testimonials
The Mixtape appealed to us because it supported our ambitions to provide opportunities for the borough’s communities to come together to collaborate, celebrate, create and innovate. Firmly rooted in the local context, it offered participants meaningful opportunities to share creative experiences that build pride in place whilst deepening their sense of belonging.

Aldershot has a rich but often overlooked cultural and musical heritage, with many sites that people pass by without understanding their significance.
The Aldershot Mixtape heritage trail addresses this disconnect by transforming static heritage locations into immersive experiences.
Rather than simply encouraging visits, it invites meaningful interaction; using music to transport listeners back to defining moments, gigs, and shared memories tied to each place. Since launch, the app has been downloaded over 300 times, demonstrating a clear appetite for more engaging, story-led ways to experience Aldershot’s heritage.
